Dinner Hall Meeting

“Oh come on T’vin, before we have K’ttak and H’ton after use and if we go ask K’ttak now, we can see if you can come to my weyr and have a game of chess or cards” Zi said she was not going to wait much longer as she did not want to get in trouble.

Astra listened this was the first time it had sunk into her that she was not longer a child or Weyrling any more she was a young women and dragon rider.

T’vin looked at Zi “Do you think he really will let me go to your weyr?” he asked thinking it was a bit of a step up.

“He might if we go now and you stop twisting like a thread scored Dragon” Zi said heading over to K’ttak.

K’ttak looked round when Zi came over “What do you want i said to go to your weyr or to the barracks?” K’ttak said wondering what was with his weyrlings today they where being a bit disobedient, it may be something he needed to look into.

Zi took a breath “I am but i want to ask is it ok for T’vin to come back to my weyr, i want to show him the new flight straps I made and the alterations i have done to my jacket” Zi said wanting to give more of a reason than the fact that some of the other were a bit dull.

K’ttak looked at Zi “And you can’t show him these in the barrack?”

“No” Zi said “All those other dead glow’s will want to see them and you set them to make their own and I’ll just get pestered over the whole thing, asked how do I do that, its not like its hard to do if they had listened first time round” Zi said knowing K’ttak had a few dead glows this time round.

“Hmm and you don’t want to help them, but you do want to help, T’vin?” K’ttak asked seeing where this was going.

“No it’s not that, T’vin’s made his set, two actually and you passed both of them he just wants to know how to put some design on them to make them stand out a bit, like Diceth’s.
I don’t mind helping but i wont do them for them and some of them think i should” Zi said trying to sound convincing which for the most part of what she said was true.

K’ttak turned to Timov “What do you think?” He asked her. To him it seamed like he was letting T’vin have privilege over the other Weyrlings.
It had been different when it was Astra as Astra was older and understood rules

Timov listened to Zi ask for T’vin to allowed to go to her weyr to look at riding straps and the changes Zi had made to a jacked.
She was not sure about letting the two young ones go off together as they where at the right age to start testing things out, even if both children had had been brought up sensibly.
And it may look like privilege was being given to her son and Timov did not want that to affect T’vin’s standing in the weyr.
“It’s up to you, your Weyrling Master” She said knowing that would not help matters.

T’vin hung back he had been told off by his grandmother for having a friend right next to him when he asked for something as it mad her look bad when she had said no.
He listened to Zi ask for hi to be able to go to Zi’s weyr instead of the barrack’s.

K’ttak smiled at Timov that did not help him with this situation.
“You can go see the straps and the Jacket but then to the barracks no fooling around, i will have Dornth watching use” He said glad that dragons could act as chaperones for two young riders.

Zi tried not to frown as it was better than nothing and they could always sit on the ledge at the barrack’s and talk as the ledge was part of the barracks.

Astra watched as Zi talked to K’ttak “Do you think he’ll let them go?” She asked S’ren

T’vin was not sure if that was any better than just going strait there. Then again he would miss out on the whole part or the guessing why they had been asked to go back to the barrack.
He whished his mum would have said more than “its up to you” that was like she didn’t want to be the bad guy here.

Zi looked back at T’vin trying to give an encouraging smile, it was better than nothing and it would mean they could waist sometime’ though not much as Dragons could be trouble tail tellers

Timov nodded at K’ttaks decision she would also get Cailth to keep watch the two also, another set of eyes was never a bad idea.
“Right i think use needed to get going. Good night T’vin” She said to her son.

S’ren turned to Astra when she asked him the question, “look like from here, though i think Zi is pushing the line a bit close to stepping over it” S’ren said watching the two weyrlings

Astra looked at S’ren, he did not normally come over as an unkind man, so she took some notice of what he said about Zi pushing it.
“Zi always has tested the limits” Astra decided to say not defending her fried as Astra thought Zi could act better at time’s.

K’ttak watched as his weyrmate bid her son good night, it made him long for a son or daughter or his own one day.
Though maybe not one like T’vin or Zi where two sides of the same mark and he had enough on his plate with just teaching them

“Night Mum” T’vin said giving a weak smile to Timov and then quickly heading out before K’ttak could change his mind and tell them they could not go.

H’to sat playing with his wine cup trying to remember how many glass he had had as he know he needed his head clear and though he and Talia had made up a bit, it would go a long way on his part to not get drunk to night.
And for the first time H’ton actual started to wonder if he did drink too much?.

Zi headed out “Come on T’vin before we get in trouble for being in the hall to long” She said grabbing a bun before she went out side

“Hm…Still think that she should watch hit” S’ren said watching Zi and T’vin go.
He turned back to Astra “Come on lets go join Timov and K’ttak before H’ton starts his speech” S’ren said getting up offering a hand to help Astra up.

T’vin followed Zi out of the dinner hall “I didn’t think they would let us go. It’s a bit silly that we arnt going to be aloud to hear what’s being said” T’vin said as he followed Zi to her weyr looking up spotting Dornth watching them.

Astra excepted the hand up and followed him over to K’ttak and Timov.

“Who says we can’t we both have dragons they can listen in for us” Zi said checking that Diceth was awake

Timov watched her son go “Oh i think sometime’s it is not good to let those two be together” She said sipping her klah.

S’ren walked over “Ok if we join use?” He asked them.

Timov looked up seeing S’ren and Astra “Yes come join us. How are you doing Astra dear i don’t think i have seen you much lately”

“Don’t worry i will keep and eye on them and they both know they would be in more trouble than someone caught out during a fall” K’ttack said giving Timov’s had a squeeze to reassure her, she was being bit odd lately.

Astra sat down “Oh not much, just things” Astra said not really thinking of what she had been doing lately.

Timov smiled, Yeas Astra was one of those people who always found stuff to keep them busy, it reminded Timov of her own mother.
“Well that’s good how are the wing drills coming i say your wing practicing the other day.

“Astra’s doing very well her and Villarith can turn on a mark. Though Villarth needed’s to get herself off the ground with the rest of us” S’ren said he was in the same wing as Astra and had been doing a lot of the drills with Astra and a few more of the younger riders.

Astra blushed as S’ren mention her and Villarth slow getting off the ground.
“They’re going ok i think i can do better” Astra muttered.

K’ttak patted Astra’s hand “Don’t worry most take time to get the timing right for a take off, as long as you take off that is the main thing” he said shooting a look at S’ren.

“I didn’t mean it as a bad thing Elbereth took some getting off the ground with the rest of the wing and a few time’s i was over eager and took off before i was meant to” S’ren admitted his faults.
“And i said Villarith can turn on a mark, she’s good, fast and accurate with her flaming”

Timov let out a grown “Oh…this is not another pitch for the all weyr game’s is it, i got that in my flight practice”

“I, well i know one thing, the one wing that will go through is the wing with B’hamut and Sephiroth in as they are fast.” S’ren said trying to think of whose wing the bronze rider was in.
“Whose wing he in any way?”
