Dinner Hall Meeting

“How do you know that B’hamuts been hiding in the record room?” T’vin asked Zi wanting to know how she know what the bronze rider got up to.

H’ton draned his glass, most people had eaten now, he would soon have to call order and tell everyone what he had decided to do.

S’ren held up his hands “I ain’t going to tell him, like i said the man did not seem keen on see me land near his work crew” S’ren said

Timov smiled back at K’ttak lovingly.

S’ren decided to leave the two alone “I’m going to go see what trouble i can cause else where” he said getting up and spotting Astra and Zi decided to join them.

“You do that” Timov said not paying much mind to S’ren’s departure.

“Because K’ttak had me go down there several time’s to find records for him and plus i know he was down there so i just kept going back down to check he was alright. He doesn’t talk much and he likes to study the records on plants”.

“How do you know its them one’s he’s reading” Astra asked seeing S’ren coming over and made room for him.

“Because K’ttak made me tidy the whole place up and he had finished with on that had all about plants in the area and a map” Zi said priding her self on knowing theses things.

K’ttak pulled Timov closer hoping what ever H’ton was going to say he would hurry the shard up as he hoped to retire to his Weyr with Timov.

“What did you do to make his give you that job to do” T’vin asked knowing K’ttak gave out some very hard punishments when you misbehaved. One’s that made you think about what you had done to be made to get this punishment and to think before you did it again.
T’vin suspected that was K’ttak’s main lesson to think before you did something.

S’ren sat next to Astra “Hi midgets, what use talking about?” he asked giving Astra warm smile.

Timov did not resist or try to move away likes she would have done a turn or two back when any male rider came near her or tried to get her nearer to them. She felt safe in K’ttaks arms and would have no worries about staying there. But she had a nagging worry in he head that she would have to tell him soon.

“Em… K’ttaks punishments and B’hamut hiding in the record room and who Astra fancies to fly her .” T’vin said grinning and waiting to see how the older girl would react to the teasing. Astra always made him think of someone who had had to grow up fast

“We where not” Astra said indignified the little wretch.

“Shout it T’vin any way Astra like’s Talia’s brother E’lric” Zi said knowing Astra blushed when she met the bronze rider from Sunset Beach. Mind even Zi thought he was nice looking and charming and funny.

“Do not” Astra said slightly close to shouting, but very aware that i she did most likely everyone would turn and look at her and she didn’t think she could deal with the humiliation.

S’ren laughed Astra still needed to learn not to rise to the bate when people where funning with her and T’vin was a right little wind up.
He turned to Zi “I don’t think I’ve ever met, Talia’s brother, what’s he like?” S’ren asked he know he had heard the name around the weyr, but he could never remember meeting the man.
He know he was a Bronze rider and was in some weyr some where he didn’t know where, he hadn’t heard where.

“You wouldn’t H’ton and E’lric do not get on and H’ton banned E’lric from the weyr a few turns back after E’lric kicked H’ton’s hide…” Zi said but she was cut short by Astra

“Zi don’t you know not to go spreading stuff about” Astra said thinking Zi did give way to large amounts of gossip, like the stuff about T’vin and his mother Timov.

“Not spreading it, its common knowledge around here and S’ren would have found it out from anyone if he asked. The bone of it is E’lric’s not allowed in the weyr when H’ton’s here, but he does meet Talia at their parents hold every now and again or Talia goes to Sunset beach, which is a weyr near the west coast.” Zi said just so to cover if S’ren asked about that weyr E’lric was at.
“But E’lric’s been to lots of Weyrs and some in the hot lands and some cold. He’s brilliant and so is his bronze Godarth they can pull up from a dive a man’s height from the ground”

“Oooh so who like’s who, your Diceth should rise before my “ Astra said pointing this out to Zi mind hers would be more complicated as Zi was younger than Astra who would reach her 16th turn soon and Zi had just reached her teens.

Zi grinned this was a subject that had come up more time’s than threads had fallen and Zi know a close eye was being kept on her green as she know her parents hoped Diceth would be a late flyer “Ha E’lrics older than me and any way there is no chance when Diceth rises that E’lric would be here as he is not allowed in the weyr.

T’vin didn’t know if he wanted to be around hearing this conversation about who’s dragon would fly who’s and so on, he was still a weyrling but his Bahamuth was flying and so was many of the other’s from the same clutch, but they had not reached their maturity yet. How would they react to a mating flight.

S’ren listened to the girls talk “That’s one way to get round being banned from the weyr. If H’ton just said weyr and not weyr territory.
Then again H’ton can not hold command over a hold” S’ren said thinking about what Zi had just told him.
“Do you think he’ll come when the first queen rises at Top Point?” He asked Zi since she knows more of the rider better than he did and may know if he had any interest in being a weyrleader. As some men wanted to lead and some preferred to take orders.
S’ren was a bit of both he did not mind taking order but he would like to be a wing second or wing leader in some not so distant turn.

“He might, he could i mean it’s an open flight and E’lric’s young and able to. Then again who would want to be the weyrleader of the coldest weyr next to High Reaches” Zi said thinking of the places E’lric had been. He had impressed at Benden gone to a weyr in the south then one near the dessert and now at Sunset beach, he may not like the cold.

“If H’ton does not like him how would he react to having E’lric as a fellow Weyrleader?” Astra asked thinking about all of this.

Zi had to think for a moment.

K’ttak poured Timov some more wine “Don’t worry its not East Cliff wine” He said trying to check the label “Ah… Benden, someone will get it in the neck for putting this out for this evening. Then again maybe a good wine will but everyone back in a good mood” he said thinking the mood had grown worse than the air before a Fall.

“He’ll just have to Chew it raw and swallow it” T’vin said choosing on of his mother sayings.
“Mind i don’t think it’s the first flight that will cause the problem i think it will be Rio’s dragon rising that is going to cause the trouble.
As she was meant to have been a right pain when K’ttak had to teach her to do jumps between” T’vin said telling some of the weyrling gossip.

“Yeah i heard that to, but what the biggest question is, where did B’hamut go when he lest K’ttak to finish the lesson as i know he didn’t come back here. Because i was doing flight drills with the twins and we where at it all morning and into the afternoon and he didn’t come back till later near the evening meal and K’ttak asked if we had seen him” Zi said remembering the day.

Astra looked at Zi “Does it matter where he went and how do you know he didn’t come back and go while use had dinner?” Astra asked Zi

“He didn’t because no dragon announced themselves into the weyr and also that big bronze of his is hard to miss in the sky. mind when he did come back he was really red and a bit tanned a few days after it” Zi said thinking back to that day

T'vin shrugged again ''Mostof the weyrling's know, Rio has the odd lesson and drill's with us, having to fly in formation us with flaming dragon's and her with a flamethrower and then we did some group jumps and she did nothing but make comments about B'hamut and then I hear K'ttak talking to one of your brother Zi.… I didn't mean to hear it. I was just checking Bahamuth's straps'' T'vin said trying to make it clear he had not put himself were he could hear gossip or see something

“Which brother?” Zi asked looking at T’vin “I have 8 and 5 are dragon riders” she said

“I like your eldest brother, he and his bronze are nice” Astra said leaning back smiling.

Zi giggled “Your out of luck he has a weyrmate in another weyr and she will not let him go to a green rider” Zi said her eldest brother was wing leader at Fort Weyr.

“I can dream” Astra said

“I bet you can Astra” S’ren said laughing at the green rider.
He sat with this lot more because it gave Astra someone older to talk to rather than some one younger that herself, she didn’t seam to associate with the riders her own age. He wondered if it was off being left standing.

“I heard a lot of that off K’ttak himself” S’ren said sipping his drink.
“Ah who cares where he went off to as long as he came back and turned up for the wing drill” S’ren said taking another sip of his wine, then reaching for the skin to top up his glass, it was then he remembered Astra was old enough to drink wine.
“Would you like a glass of wine Astra?” He asked

T’vin looked wide eyed at S’ren when he offered Astra a glass of with… oh Astra may not have a fancy on any one but maybe someone had a fancy on her.

“Oh…em” Astra was caught if by S’ren’s offer she was never offered a glass of win, not that she didn’t drink it.
“yes thank you” she said Astra said remembering that she had not said yes or no to S’ren’s offer.

S’ren smiled at Astra, a bit surprised that she was that caught off not being offered a cup of wine.
S’ren got up crossing the room, getting another cup for Astra and pouring her a drink and handing her the class.
“There you go” he said then looked over at T’vin seeing T’vin grinning like a feline.
“don’t even think it” he said to the weyrling.
