Lucarda had been watching the bronze as it moved about, its head moved like a snakes, it both scared and fascinated him, Lucarda jumped back as the others did to avoid the claws of this angry beast. He never thought hatchings would be like this he thought it was just stories about the hatchlings attacking candidates but he thought it was just things to scare the witless. Lucarda’s attention was drawn to the little blue who had now hatched, it was a bit frightening now and Lucarda had to fight the urge to run, these ones were not like the ones the Harpers sung about who did great things and defended Pern. These ones thought nothing of hurting the candidates, well this bronze did. Lucarda saw the bronze coming closer to him and Lucarda made a move to step away from the approaching bronze, but the boy couldn’t move fast enough and before he know what was happening Lucarda felt the dragonets claws in him and he fell to the ground gasping for breath with pain off the Bronzes claws. He wanted to try and move but the Bronze was hard to move. Lucarda heard this voice in his head, he was shocked that the bronze had chose him and that it know he thought the bronze unfinished and then it threatened him. L’card could only nod his head as the bronze had him pinned.

Dev jumped out of the way as the bronze came in at them. He jumped to the same side as Max thinking if the bronze came at him, the boy from the Smith may help get the beast off him. Unfortunately the boy next to them was not as lucky as the bronze caught him in the leg. Dev definitely didn’t want that bronze to impress. He was slightly relived when it moved away but shocked when it went for the boy from Bitra.
Watched the dragons hatch he was a bit worried about the light bronze as it went for the boys. He liked the blue it was nice a real ladies dragon from the looks of it “He’s a really ladies dragon and its not unheard of as some female have a more masculine personality than some of use men… i think i had lessons with a lot of them.” R’reek said Looking over seeing the bronze pin Lucar…L’card . R’reek wave an arm to get the attention of two riders to go help the boy, it would be horrible for a death on a hatching.
Dev made to go help Lucarda seeing the boy was in pain and the dragon was by anything well larger than the boy.
A rider passed Dev “Stay there lad” the rider said walking over to where L’card lay with Arkairyth pinning him.
The other rider brought over a bowl of food “come on let him up and he can feed you” the rider said waving the bowl of meat near the bronze. They wouldn’t try and move the bronze unless they had to

Arkairyth hissed at the riders digging his claws into L’cards chest snapping at the rider holding the meat
“Don’t” L’card said as the dragon dug its claws in to him, the riders were not helping and L’card know he needed to try and move the dragon himself. << Arkairyth i will find you the best meat but you need let me up>> he said not knowing how he know what to do but he did it some, how talking to did talking to his dragon with his mind.
Arkairyth turned his head towards his rider, looking hard on his rider and slowly get off L’card.
<<want better meat>> the bronze said swinging his tail about at the riders

It was just her luck that when the melodious humming of the dragons revebrated around the Weyr signifying the Hatching, Zaira was stuck in a classroom with the youngest children of the Weyr trying to impart knowledge of the Ballads upon them. On a good day it was hard enough to capture their attention but today, between the crooning of the dragons and the constant slap of sandal or boot on the stone floor right outside the door she really had no chance. Like herself they realised exciting events were going on outside the door, and that they too were missing out.
It was just not fair. No doubt by the time Zaira finally escaped the room the Hatching would be all over and everyone would be enjoying the ensuing Feast. She did particularly care whether or not she attended the Feast, but the Hatching..it had been the one perk of coming to Top Point. With a resigned sigh she pushed away the pessimistic thoughts and blocked out the sounds floating through the gap between door and stone floor. WIth her widest fake smile on her face she turned back to the class, "Shall we try that line again? You're nearly getting it, but I think if we work on it a bit more we can get it perfect by the end of this lesson."
Finally the class had ended, and the children made their way off to the various chores they had at this time of day. Hurrying the last few stragglers through the door, Zaira had a backwards glance at the room to ensure no one was left behind before locking the door behind her. She waited until the hallway was clear, before sprinting towards the Hatching Grounds. Zaira heard the exclamations and general cacophony a large crowd makes as she neared the Hatching Grounds. But she realised that did not necessarily mean the Hatching was still going, and quickened her pacs. **By the egg of Faranth please make sure I did not miss it.**
She finally reached the mouth of the Grounds and peered in, noticing the shards of a few eggs littered across the sands. However it was with relief that she noticed more eggs remained intact, including the two eggs Ziinyth had been jealously guarding over the past few sevenday. With a quick look to the Stands she spied K'inzar, the man she had meant while watching Wing Drills, and noticed not only did he have a brilliant vantage point to watch the Hatching, but also a spare seat next to him. Pushing her way through the Stands and receiving cries or expletives for her trouble she finally plonked herself into the seat next to the man without even asking if he minded. She turned to him and gave him a brief grin. "So what have I missed so far?"
OOC:I don't know if you permit them or what not, but if you are short of numbers I don't mind if Zaira Impresses in the Stands.

Seabriel turned her green eyes away from the Bigger Bronze and was startled to find a Blue Dragon in her face.Well, why hadn't she seen him hatch? He was the same shade as her own Harper blue that she would have been wearing if not for this hatching. True, he wasn't the same as Tranth, who was sapphire blue, but she wasn't sure which she liked better. When she glanced up at the Stands with a grin she could see several harpers that where watching the new Blue. Of course they would like him, he was a dragon incarnate of all things Harper!
She turned her attention back to the departing Blue and mumbled a tune under her breath. Oh, what a lovely song she could write about the harper Dragon when she got back to the Hall...Oh, wait... What would happen if she didn't go back to the Hall? Did Top Point already have a Weyrsinger? She wasn't sure. But could she be a Weyrsinger, even if she happened to Impress a Queen? She didn't think anything like that had every happened.

Another bronze hatched and the first one Impressed. This was all very exciting, but Zyrii's anxiety for the hatching of the colors that would actually Impress to females prevented her from fully enjoying the current events. The attitude of the second bronze, however, seemed to be a bit worrying. It was almost as if this one intended to maul someone. But that couldn't be right, right? She'd heard that they only injured candidates in their way in order to get to the person they chose. Surely there was never any malice behind the actions...
Just as she was pondering the behavior of the second, odd-colored bronze, another egg hatched, and this time it was a blue. This caught her attention more than the bronzes, as it meant that the other colors were starting to hatch. And, just as she considered that the females might get a chance to Impress soon, she realized the blue was heading unmistakably in their direction. Was it intending to pick a girl? But, no, it seemed to just want to have some fun breathing in the candidates' faces. When her turn came for this treatment, she did her best to remain calm. It was just a baby, and maybe he would still pick a girl once his fun was through.
The second bronze had Impressed now. Only... he was standing on his Bonded? Definitely seemed to be an odd one. This display caused Zyrii to briefly feel relief at the her own gender; since she wasn't a male, she hadn't been in danger of that odd bronze who seemed to show malice even during Impression, and towards the one he was Impressing to. Shaking her head, she turned her attention back to the blue wandering the female candidates and the still-unhatched eggs, wondering if this pattern would continue -- so far, each one seemed to wait for the next to hatch before Impressing, though it was more than likely just a coincidence.

The blue paused, his attention seeming snagged by something, and slowly let his eyes scan the girls around him. that sound... It was a mnarvelous sound! Beautiful! His brow furrowed as he tried to find it, tossing aside his former play to start really searching, hunting through the candidates methodically. Where... Where was it? Where was she? Oh she had to be close, he knew she was, his eyes wheeling rapidly with a myriad of hues as he creeled softly, stopping again to look about and try to find her. While the lovely Blue was busy, three more eggs hatched. the first was a Green, who in her excitement had sent fragments of her shell flying as far as the feet of the candidats, just shy of actually hitting anyone. Wriggling in glee she seemed unable to remain still for even a second, flashes of her light, spring green hide were the only defining feature. In a whirlwind the green charged into the male candidates, trilling and crooning and warbling with all the emotions she was feeling, skittering to a halt only to bound off in a new direction. She would undoubtably be a handful as she matured, for the energy she was showing was only the tip of the iceburg, in truth she had nearly double what was being used. Heartbeats after he Green hatched, two eggs hatched at the same time. Sitting side by side, the two eggs seemed to confer, their rocking motions mirrored, both moving in exact precision to the other. As one crack appeared on the smaller, a crack appeared on the larger, and both shell broke and fell to the sand in heaps at the same moment, revealing two of the most beautiful hatchlings so far. A small Green lay in the ruins of her egg, her hide dark, and most oddly, over her shoulders and spine were navy markings, stripes that wound over her hide in a wonderous display. The other was a Blue, his hide a deep navy, with dark green stripes on his shoulders and spine, as if the opposite of the little Green. The two hatchlings lay still for a moment, slowly opening their eyes and looking first at eachother, a bright, sunny smile breaking over the Green's maw as she lifted her head to touch her nose to her brother's shoulder. What good luck she had! TGo see her darling brother so proudly hatched! With a soft grunt the Green heaved herself to her paws, staggering slightly and nearly falling, only to find that somehow her Blue brother had rose and caught her, supporting her with an extended wing. Mia couldn't decide where to look, as it seemed a flurry of motion took the sands, charging off into the males in a blur of green, and then two more eggs hatched, revealing stunning little dragons, a Blue and a Green, or the older Blue who was now searching the candidates seriously, his playful mood gone and seeming almost concerned. Finally, she settled for watching the large eggs once more, ignoring the hatchling entirely as they were starting to give her a headache from looking at them all at once. Too many, going all over the place. the eggs that hadn't hatched yet were easier to keep an eye on, they wouldn't dart off unexpectedly. They also wouldn't try and maul anyone. Ziinyth turned her attention fro mher eggs to the Bronze Arkairyth, scowling, and swung her head in his direction. Little Bronze, leave my sands. You have found your boy already, and no one is going to distract from the rest of the clutch. Her tail twitched, restrained from fully lashing behind her by force of will, as her steely gaze locked on the young Bronze. Indeed, she had no intention of anyone distrubing her Hatching, or turning it into a sad thing. Her right as a gold would ensure he listened to some degree to her order, and that her sands would be thankfully cleared. Kisa watched her Gold, distracted and missing the hatching of the Green-Blue twins as the queen let her displeasure show. Easy my love, no one could ever make this an unhappy day. Placated the Gold settled, letting her gaze settle on the clutch again. Look at them Own! Oh, aren't they a pretty pair? the Gold had noticed the twins, and so now Kisa did as well, and she gasped. They were beautiful! She snuck a peek out of the corner of her eye at R'reek, wondering what his reaction to such hatchlings would be, and unconciously squeezed his hand in her excitement. Hatched: Bronze Misanthroth Bronze Arkairyth Blue Green and Blue
Impressed: Bronze Misanrthoth to H'sail (NPC) Bronze Arkairyth to L'card

The riders gave L’card a hand up of the sand seeing the marks off the dragons claws, they would get a healer to see him when the dragonet was asleep They heard the unmistakable sound of the queen telling the bronze to leave “Come on lad get him off the sands” he said
Dev watched the riders get the dragon off L’card, but his attention on the other candidate that he missed the blue and the Green and Blue hatching, He looked over now seeing three dragons on the sands. The first blue wasn’t every interesting to Dev but the other was it looked a bit odd like someone had took part off the Green stuck it on the Blue and then the other way round it looked good on them different

”Hello...thought you would have let the kids have the day off or out earlier for the hatching.” K’inzar said smiling seeing the Harper, “Not much the first egg hatched was a bronze, a very good sign for the weyr. That impressed a lad called H'sail and the Bronze’s name is Misanrthoth” He said to the Harper “Dragons act as good voice over’s and tell use the names of the dragonets.” K’inzar explained
“And you just missed a very mean looking bronze. The one who had its rider pinned to the floor” K’inzar pointing the sands “riders are on hand to help the new Weyrlings and he looks like he needs the help.” K’inzar said
L’card was thankful the riders helped him up or he would never have made it to his feet on his own, Arkairyth had shape claws.
Arkairyth flicked his tail about, swinging his head up arragntly as his mother talked to him
“Arkairyth come on and i will get you some food” L’card said trying to assert some authority over the dragon. Though this was not such a good idea as this caused Arkairyth to lash out at him with the claws. But the bronze started to move off the hatching grounds. L’card winced as he moved the cuts hurt as he moved
((I dont mind Zaira impressing in the stands))

"But if I had let them out early who would have been there to look after them?" She craned her neck to look up in the Stands. "As far as I can see everyone is here. The last thing you would want is to find that after the Hatching, the Weyr had been brought down by a group of wayward children. And it seems it all worked out for the best. They learnt their lessons and I managed to make it in time to see at least some of the Hatching." Zaira gave a smile, her gaze moving back of its own accord to the action on the Sands below her. "Oh a bronze first, that's marvellous news. Kisa must be proud," she spoke fondly of her friend, and sought her out. "Are bronzes usually aggressive at Hatching?" It had been so long since she had sat in on one, that she could not tell if this was a regular trait or something of an aberration.
Before he had a chance to reply, "Oh K'inzar, look at those two that just Hatched." She grabbed the man's arm and pointed in the direction of the twin dragons. "Arn't they just gorgeous." A wide smile broke over her face. In her short time here she was already thoroughly enjoying the action.

R’reek had been watching the riders deal with the aggressive bronze and help the boy off the sand, he hoped G’ree was taking not of the dragons as he had a nagging worry about that bronze. By the time his attention was back on the sand he realised there had been another two, a pair at the same time who from the looks looked an exact opposite of each other a green and blue and a blue and green. Definitely an odd pair but they seamed health and strong as the two got up the blue and green helping the green and blue as she fell. Well he hoped it was a she. He felt Kisa squeeze his hand he looked at her for a moment she looked really happy with the pair, well if she was happy then that was good and that’s all that mattered, that this day was going well for Kisa and that all her dragons eggs were hatching an healthy. He gave her a confident smile sure things would keep going at a good pace

”Hm…” Kinzar said thinking “Good point i know Morga could use the help in the kitchen but to many kids would driver her mad and also her kitchen workers” K’inzar said thinking how she had reacted when he had slipped through the dinner hall to grab a meat roll before going to get the people to come for the hatching.
“bet you had a hard job keeping their minds on the songs and stuff” K’inzar said he was not one for sitting in lessons, though he had had to when he was in the Healer Hall.
K’inzar was a bit surprised when Zaira grabbed his arm to get his attention to the two new hatchlings, he had been watching the bronze getting off the young lad… he dreaded G’rees job with that one. He looked to where the Harper pointed “oh they are a nice looking pair” he said a back knot of worry at the odd markings on them.

Seabriel was awe struck by the twins. had anything ever happened like that in any Weyr? She wasn't sure it ever had. in away the two reminded her of her twin brothers, the next olderst after her sister. They where always picking each other up when they where down It seemed to cheer te Journeywoman a bit, and yet it seemed to depress her as well. Jims and Jens were the brothers that blamed her the most for their mother's death.
Tranth, from his place among the other Flits watched tha hatching with joy, humming a bit as the eggs hatched. The Great bronzes had scared him more than the Bronze Flits did and when the Blue and puffed into Seabriel's face his eyes had begun to whirl an unpleasent shade of light red. But he knew better than to wing down to scold the Dragon, it was bigger than him. He picked at a claw, well he was better looking at least, with such a lovley shade of Hide, not that color the Dragonet had.
She watched in awe as the pretty Green scampered among the males. Well, that was another hatching she had missed. Maybe the Green with the blue marking would wander into the girls and Impress on of them. She could see several of the girls looking on in hope. her eyes moved to fix on the two largest eggs. they had to Hatch soon, they just had to. She could feel it in her bones.

Rio was watching the sand seeing the first bronze impress to a boy and then another. This one looked odd dark limbs and light body. She was even more shocked when it attacked the candidates in the line then moved along and attacked another one of the candidates in the line, the boy was pinned on the sand. Oh this wasn’t like what had happened when she had impressed Aerith, none of the dragonets had attacked the candidates. She let out a worried sound.
G’ree heard the worried sound from Rio. “Its ok, he’s ok…look R’reeks sending some riders to help”
<<[glow=orange,1,200]The little bronze had impressed the boy he is bronze Arkairyth [/glow]>>
“Look its ok it’s impressed him” G’ree said wondering if Rio had her gold listening in on the hatching to relay. He patted Rio’s hand she looked worried
Rio was not too reassured by seeing the riders go to help. She felt G’ree pat her hand she looked down at the mans hand then doing a double take the man only had three fingers on his hand and a very faint scare. He wondered how that had happened she heard of fishermen losing finger in their work but G’ree didn’t act like a fisherman or he would have gave her some greeting typical of a fish hold. She had had them a few times.
Her attention was drawn to the two newer hatchlings and how odd and opposite they looked. She looked round at everyone to gather their reaction, was this good or bad.
------on the Sand------
Max found himself moving out of the way again as the new hatchling came his way…seeing Dev had moved in time this time. Unfortunately the boy next to them was not as quick and the beast attacked him. Max had a strong urge to chase the dragonet away from the boy luckily it moved before Max did anything but went over to the boy from Bitra and it pulled him down. He would have helped but saw the rider coming to help. Well at least they were not going to let the kid be scratched to death. Max watched the first blue, he liked him it reminded him of his little brother in away. Max then looked over at the twins now they were nicely coloured, something new and different. He liked how the blue helped the green

Good or bad was hard to say, for the twins were making their way to the candidates, tjheir wings extended, touching, as if afraid to break contact. The Green edged her way nearer the female candidates, eyes wheeling curiously, the Blue comming just shy of the males, refusing to break away from his sister. Instead, the pair grew still agan, such a contrast the the little Green who was racing about, and the Blue who was now scouring the candidates carefully. The Harper Blue hatchling gave a creel, perking up and tossing his head, his pace quickening as he laid eye on the girl he wanted. Seabriel! SeabrielMine! Cokme come, Baritoneth is hungry, and while we eat we can sing! He warbled as he came to stand before His girl, cronning, stretching out his head to press his silken muzzle against her shoulder, exhaling and inhaling, taking in her scent and covering her with his own. How happy he was that he'd foung her! The excitable Green, in her mad dashes through the candidates, crashed into one sall boy, who was toppled by her, eliciting a creel of apology as the Green paced around the boy, nudging him and questioning if she'd hurt him, because if she did she was sosososososososo sorry. He waved a hand, pushing her back and rising to caress her head as he shouted out her name. "Green Marlunasyth" With a broad smile he walked away, the Green prancing beside him and chattering up a storm that anyone who got too close would likely be included in. That left only the twins on the sands, straining toward the candidates but refusing to separate. Suddenly, the Green broke away, turning from her brother and charging to the nearest girl with a whimper, grabbing the girls sleeve and dragging her forcefully back to the Blue, crooning apologies to both him and her bonded. tenetively the girl spoke the dragons name, though it was barely a whisper. "Caskayth."The Blue, indifferent it seemed to the lapse of contact, was looking intently at the boys, his head tilted to the side as he pondered, tail twitching faintly. A low croon slide from his maw as he looked at the boys, and his voice came in a deep rumble, one that if unexpected could easily startle or intimidate. "D'vonOwn, you will feed Mastopeth, and not take me far from Caskayth. Hurry now." His head swung to the Green, and gently he cupped his wing around her to lead her, while she continued to drag her girl along, to D'von. As soon as Mastopeth, who would likely be more commonly known as Mast by those close to him, impressed, another egg cracked open, though it seemed to be having a bit of difficulty. It was resolved a second later, and revealed that because the Brown had been trying to break through the bottom of the shell, his rear end at the crown of the egg, he'd had such trouble. He tumbled to the ground and sneezed, shaking himself rapidly, like a canine, and looking about with bright eyes. His hide was middling brown, an earthy hue, with a dark streak over his head that ran nearly dead center, and traced along his spine to the tip of his bifurcated tail. His wings were brindled with the same color, and he was by no doubt interesting, even if he paled in comparison to the twins. Mia's heart raced, and then shattered when she watched the Green-Blue Impress. a part of her had so wanted to be the one the hatchling would choose. such an original creature she was! So beautiful! But no... Some other girl, one just inches away from herself, was chosen. Her head hung and she sighed, missing the Brown entirely, as she stared at her feet, shifting mechanically from one to the other to try and avoid as much of the heat as she could. Hatched: Bronze Misanthroth Bronze Arkairyth Blue Baritoneth Green Malunasyth (NPC) Green Caskayth (NPC) and Blue Mastopeth Brown
Impressed: Bronze Misanrthoth to H'sail (NPC) Bronze Arkairyth to L'card Blue Baritoneth to Seabriel Green Malunasyth to K'yol (NPC) Green Caskayth to Nadayn (NPC) Blue Mastopeth to D'von

Dev had been watching the dragonets laughing mildly as the green impressed leaving the blue on his own. He felt a bit sorry for him. Then he heard the voice talking to him inside his head. He looked around thinking maybe he was hearing things. But then he realised it had to be one of the dragon’s seeing the other blue had impressed and the green had that only left the blue and D’von could see the blue trying to get his sister over to him. D’von moved meeting them half way. D’von didn’t know what to say to the girl, he felt he should try and apologies for his dragons part. “sorry about this” He said as he tried to help the girl move off the sand and out of the way of the other’s. “Come on Mast, we’ll go get them a nice bowl of meat ready...come on” He said leading the dragon away

F’hursna watched as the hatching went on, he had leant forward when a dragonet had attacked a candidate, it wasn’t unheard of for a dragonet to go for one or two but this one looked like it did it with intent. He hoped Kisa and R’reek would keep an eye on that one, he was waiting like the others to see if one of the big eggs was a gold or not. But the green/blue and blue/green had him slightly worried a mutation in the gene may not be looked on to kindly by the rest of the weyrs

Zaira laughed, "I would never subject Morga to twevle raucous children. I am currently in her good books, or so I believe, and the last thing I would want to do is ruin that my foisting ym students upon her. And yes it was rather a trial trying to keep them attentive, what with all the noise outside the room. But we managed as well as could be expected I suppose. I just hope next Hatching the dragonets decide to appear when I am on a break or something. It's just inconsiderate of them not to consider my conveince," she said with a wink.
"Oh they Impressed quickly. That's a good sign isn't it?" She turned to the blue rider once again with a smile. Before her gaze caaught the antics of the brown. What must it feel like for the Candidates standng on the Grounds? She thought. The excitement and anticipation she felt must be ten fold, if not more so.

K’inzar gave a evil chuckle at Zaira “Morga is the worst person in the weyr to be on the bad side of…i should know or if your ever in doubt just ask G’ree” he said pointing down to where G’ree sat with Rio “She was his foster mother and he knows her temperament best” K’inzar said looking down. “Oh now i wonder how she is going to react when she finds out he is weyrling master now?” K’inzar said looking at Rio
K’inzar turned his attention back to the sands “Well a quick impression means that the candidates must be very suitable.” K’inzar said thinking he wasn’t really sure. “Time seems to be standing dead still when your down on those sands waiting and watching, hoping the next egg will be the dragon that wants you and praying like mad you are not the one left standing “ K’inzar told the Harper

E’lric watched the sands and clapped when the candidates impressed. “Where’s H’ton did he not come?” E’lric said looking about as Top Point was not in the East Cliff Weyrleaders duristiction, he could not order E’lric to stay away.
Talia had clapped along witht the other happy that Kisa’s dragons first hatching was going along so well with the slights hitch with the second Bronze attacking its rider. “You know filly well he’s not here and why… he’s hunting with the wing” She said E’lric could have little tact at times.
”Hey i am not stopping him coming” E’lric said truthfully E’lric was sick of the whole ban for the weyr and the fact his sisters mate would not be in the same weyr as him. But if H’ton wanted to act like a child then he wouldn’t stop him. “Where’s K’ttak?” don’t tell me he had a weyrling lesson
”No…Timov cant go between at the moment and he didn’t want to come with out her” Talia said E’lric looked a bit puzzled “Why cant she go between?”
”E’lric!” Talia hit him “you know fully well that the reason a green…Female…rider can not go between” she said
”Oh…oh…oh the lucky devil” E’lric said grinning “Its about time, Mum was commenting about his step brother not settle down with a wife and their father was commenting about not having a grand child”
”Yeah but you’ve met his step brother his opinion on rider is nothing to write home about, but i don’t know if K’ttak will tell his father” Talia said. “I think he should…i thing his father would be overjoyed to hear about a grandchild, babies always make things better” Talia said watching the sand
R’reek watched the sands as the dragonets impressed the candidates. Things were going really well, he laughed as green dragged her rider over to where the blues rider stood. He hoped the dragon would grow out of wanting to be together as it could cause problem when the green matured
