A feirce, primal scream rang through the Weyr, a pair of eyes, normally a calm, peaceful blue galred a deep ruby, defiant and furious. Golden hide glowed brilliantly, and the long, slender neck swung to and fro, jaws parted slightly. Hunger. Deep, roaring, making her mad for need of meat! It tore at her belly, made her let out another thundering roar as she chareged into the feeding grounds, almost gleeful at the paniced lows of the heardbeasts.
Kisa ran after the Gold, determined she wouldn't loose control over the dragon. /You cannot eat Zi! Blood your kills! Blood them!/ Her hair was a loose mess about her face, for though she'd known Ziinhyth would rise soon, Kias hadn't known exactly when, and had been in the bath when ashe realized where Ziinyth was headed. Cold air bite at her cheeks and her wet hair, and though she was dressed, it was slopily done.
Ziinyth hissed, her head swinging around to stare at Kisa darkly, as if perhaps the Gold were contemplating attacking the rider rather than a herdbeast. She gave another bellow, mantling her wings and growling, her tail lashing behind her. It was hard to imagine this was the generally sweet tempered Gold it was. With a snort she spun away from Kisa, not deeming to answer her rider, and lunged after the closest creature, a wherry who'd been too slow, burying her mzzle in the belly, only to have Kisa demand she stop. Order her to stop. The Gold could feel the mental pull from her rider, almost dragging her away from the hot, steming meat she wanted. /Blood it Zi. Don't eat. If you want this Weyr to be yours so help me, blood your kills./
If she wanted this Weyr? It was her's already! She'd been sent here to be the senior queen! How could it not be her's. Reluctantly, she wrapped her lips around the neck of the wherry, sucking it dry and letting the carcass fall to the side. She struck again, this time a large herbeast, and went once more for the belly, to have Kisa force her from there, a clash of wills both as strong as the other, both as determined as the other. /You overgrown Green! I said blood, and you will. Meat will weigh you down, and it'll be hard enough to get a good flight out of the skies here anyway./ Ziinyth tilted her head to the sky and bellowed again, raging at the restraints placed on her. She wanted meat! She wanted to eat! Finally, after bellowing and snapping futilely at the air, she clamped ehr mouth around the neck of her kill, once more taking only the blood from the body, and letting the rest fall aside, ignored.
She was full. But she still wanted something. Clouds, wind, the air rushing over her boiling body! That was what she wanted! She gave a warble of pride at this discovery, and her wings pounded the air with a powerful downstroke, lifting her into the air, away from Kisa, away from the rutting Bronzes. Away from everything! As her height grew greater, she roared again, daring anyone to try and catch her, for she was a queen! She was a Gold, built by nature to outlast any other dragon in the air! Let them try! Only if she found one pleasing, if she thought he were worth her, would she allow herself to fall, entwined with her chosen mate, plumeting to the ground in a blissful and beautiful act.
On the ground Kisa watched, shiver slightly, as her Gold soared into the air, a gleaming beast who seemed to think only in one term at the moment, to think only of the most primal things. Cerulean eyes closed for a moment, and her mind reached out, mingling with Ziinyth's, becomming one with her dragon, and she could see the sky, the clouds, could see the tiny specks on the ground that had become Kisa and several others, as well as the Bronze's who'd not yet taken to the air. She could feel Ziinyth's blood, hot, boiling almost, could feel the instinctive need of the Gold, the need to find a suitable mate and breed, to have a clutch, and to make herself the queen that Kisa knew she was. Kisa's conciousness left ehr body, and while she stood on the ground, her head tilted up to the sky, eyes opened, her mind was in the sky, connected entirely to Ziinyth and the dragon's thoughts, feelings. Bronzes... Where were they? They should be there, now! Begging her to chose them, trying to impress her with their aerobatic feats! Show her what they could do, dive, spin, roll, make her croon to them, listen to the sweet nothings they whispered to her, thinking it would influence her choice.
Ziinyth blinked for a moment when she felt Kisa's mind join her's, but the feeling was good, it was reassuring, for though she acted suer of herself, certain that she was a prize for any Bronze, she wasn't. There were not many in this Weyr, and though the body of a Bronze would scream for him to fly her, would their minds be in it? Their hearts? She wanted a king worthy of the Weyr, and worthy of her, but to have that, she had to be worthy of the king. Her lips parted in a final bellow, calling to all those who could hear her, and then the folded her wings, rolling lazily through the air as she waited.

Leonth sprung to the heights of Top Point Weyr as he heard Ziinyth challenge to the weyr and all the males. He bugled his joy to see her in the sky and waiting for her to begin the flight; she was beautiful beyond all not even the reflection valley lights could stand against her. Leonth let out another loud call to all other male declaring himself to them and then call to Ziinyth declaring himself a candidate to be her champion.
R’reek had been in the middle of saddle stitching a flight strap when he heard the unmistakable call of a female dragon and from the sound it was no green. R’reek dropped his work and raced out side seeing Ziinyth head to the heard beast pen, he say Kisa run out to control her dragon and he watched as Leonth went to wait for her to start. Running back inside R’reek made his way along the passage ways to where Kisa was seeing a few others do the same and saw the sky fill with more dragons and riders quickly dismounting. He had forgot that this was an open weyr. With all his might he whished Leonth to fly with strong wings.
Leonth followed Ziinyth in the air “Come beautiful love, let me show you i am the one worthy of your affection and love” He called to her as he flew after her

Ziinyth watched with ruby-tinged eyes as the Bronze Leonth soared to meet her, sweet words uttered to her in an attempt at flattery. Ah, but how sweet they were! Delighting in the presence of the Bronze, the first to the skies after her, she flipped lazily in the air, crooning daringly to the Bronze. //Then show me Leonth. Prove yourself above all others with your wings.// Dangerously sweet and tepting she pitched her voice, and with that, she folded her wings, the thin membranes furling to her sides, and she plumeted in a dive, a long rumble of laughter spilling from her maw as she went. The world rushed at her, the clouds passing in fleetings caresses of chilly air and soothing moisture.
Too quickly she had to spread her wings, let them carry her once more to heights suitable for her purpose, looking to see if by chance any Bronze had followed her plumet. One had, a small, runty Bronze from a distant Weyr, and the Gold Ziinyth was almost insulted that he be at ehr flight. So small was he, surely he'd not last long at all. With a smug snort, she rolled to one side, her lithe form curving so she could easily peer behind herself to watch. It was a wonderous thing, the feeling of the cold air always present at Top Point. Before she'd come here, she'd wondetred if she'd like the harsher climate, and had been almost resentful of the cold air. Now though, she revelled in it, and though it made for more difficult flying, she seemed to thrive in it. Absently her gaze turned to eek out the Bronze Leonth, a possible candidate for her furture mate. He was adoring enough, and had been obne of the first to greet her in the Weyr.
He may not be so bright as herself, but then it seemed so very few were. Her crimson eyes finally found the darker form of the dragon, and she crooned to him, daring him to come closer. //So far back! Dear Bronze you'll have to stay close. How ever will I know to choose you if you aren't at my side through every turn?// She found this amusing, in some way, and rumbled at her own wit, and Kisa on the ground gave a trill of laughter as well.
Kisa was scarcely aware of the small crowd forming around her, composed of almost entirely males, and Bronzeriders at that. The riders of dragons who would try to catch the Gold who capered through the sky, who froliced in the clouds as though it were all a great game, put on for her amusement solely. That the future of the Weyr lay in her claws seemed to mean nothing to Ziinyth, not judging her actions at least, however, behind the lusty crimson eyes lay a keen mind, one that was evaluating the Bronzes with every stroke of her wings. Between the two of them, each and every dragon and rider was under consideration, some tossed aside before they even left the ground, others placed high on the list. Aerith would not have this issue to consider, her choice made little difference in the long run, however Ziinyth had to choose a mate who would not only please herself, but who could lead the Weyr at her side, and whose rider would respect, and listen, to Kisa. A small part of the Gold envied Aerith for it, and another part of her wished ehrself a Green, for then none of this foolishness would happen at all. she'd simply rise as she pleased, and be chased by any male who wanted her.
//Where, oh where, are my faithful Bronzes? Who shall prove worthy to catch me? Hurry now, I don't want to be the only one flying.// She let her voice drift out to the minds of any Bronze nearby, seeking them out and calling to them. She wanted a good flight, wanted to be chased by a whole wing of glorious males, each one concerned only with pleasing her. Unlikely it would happen, but she could still hope.

It was F'ariyan's first rest day off as a full rider. Only two sevenday ago had he and his bronze Laronith, been promoted to the ranks of the Weyrleader's wing at Fort Weyr. Having heard of his elder sister, Zaira's, recent assignment to Top Point Weyr the young dragon and his rider had betweened it, attempting to surprise her with a visit. However when they emerged from the freezing cold of between to Top Point, which was only marginally warmer, all thoughts of a friendly visit vanished.
On the ground a circle of figures could be made out, one much smaller standing in the middle, taller forms crowding around it. From the corner of his eye F'ariyan saw a glint and scanned the sky to his right. His mouth formed an o-shape of surprise when he comprehended the scene. Up in the sky flew a gold, her proud neck held up high, wings stretched wide, a number of bronzes trailing behind her, attempting to mimic her manouveres, shadowing her flight.
The bronze underneath him began to shake, snapping his head in the direction of the other bronzes as the queen sent her call out, Laronith as entranced as the rest of them.
Before F'aryian could even ask for his dragon to set him down, the dragon nose dived, landing neatly beside the circle of bronze riders and the tiny form of what must be the gold's rider. With a leap, sensing Laronith's urgency to join in the chase, F'ariyan fell to the ground on all fours, brushing off the dust as Laronith sprung back up into the air, a bronze blur, the motion so fast.
As F'ariyan pushed his way into the circle between two riders, Laronith responded to the queen's call. **I Laronith of Fort, will prove my worth as your mate, beautiful one. Why dally with these silly bronzes who can not keep up with you, when you can have one such as me who will sire a great Clutch upon you.**
The bronze, although only quite small of size, was built for speed, his long wings making the most of the cold wind. Despite his late start he already had over-taken some of the more cubersome bronzes, darting in and around them until he was at the back of the main pack flying after the Queen, and closing in. Although this was his first flight he knew with a natural instinct what was expected of him.

((Dragon gave me permission a while ago to power play Rio if she was not on when the flight started))
F’hursna heard the call of the gold, so it was time a new weyrleader would be chose by the outcome of this flight and with it his and Palins work would pass to another and they forgotten. F’hursna rushed out of his weyr down to the lower cavers spotting Rio who was looking out at the sight of the gold on the hatching ground. He walked up to her “Come you must go back to East Cliff tell H’ton the flight is starting and to send the bronzes he chose to take part” he said grabbing her by the arm an leading her dragon who Yadrath had bespoken to get her ready to go. Aerith had not harness on and F’hutsna had to going the young women a bust up, Rio complained about not having any straps to hold. “Just hold on to your dragons neck as tight as you can and don’t let go till your at East Cliff, i will send a rider to tell you and East Cliff the out come” he said and stood back as the young gold took off and went between.
F’hursna stood back and watched Yadrath close by him, the old bronze had no interest in this flight. “Where shall we go my friend to wait this out?”
<The valley is nice and we go there>
With no waiting F’hutsna climbed up to his dragons neck and they were no sooner in the sky than they where between to the reflection valley.

Leonth bugled a loud call to Ziinyth “For you my love i would fly all of Pern” He followed Ziinyth close, hissing at the new comers to the flight he was not about to give them an easy time this was they weyr he lived in he was willing to prove it all to Ziinyth. He wanted her to want him. He followed her down through the twists and turns of the flight working his wings to push himself forward and follow Ziinyth not giving any ground to any other. “I am still here love and will prove the faithful through out the turns” he called lovingly to Ziinyth as he followed her on
R’reek could see what his dragon saw and felt his wish to prove he was wearthy of Ziinyth and i away R’reek echoed his dragons desire to prove himself. He was know for being a joker but when it came to business of the weyr he know when to play it strait. He wanted to show the weyr he was worth of doing something important and he know the way the weyr was run and how the people felt, the weyr was already on a knife point over the two new queen, an outsider would have to work sharding hard to win the weyrs support and R’reek did not envy the rider that job.
Leonth pushed himself on “Come lovely Ziinyth see your weyr the way it is meant to been seen”

B’hamut and Sephiroth came out of between followed by several other East Cliff bronzes. The landed just long enough to let their riders to the grown and then took off.
Sephiroth shot into the air letting out a loud call in challenge to the other bronzes and in response to Ziinyth he worked his great wing to catch up to the other and with not more than two pushes with his wings he was joining the leaders pulling close to Leonth
B’hamut saw all as he watched through his dragons eyes, he could feel Sephiroth pulling a head to draw level with Leonth, this dragon was really the only challenger to Sephiroth. though not an Top Point dragon Leonth was near close to one and the bronze was fast. That much B’hamut remembered about R’reek and Leonth

Leonth heard Sephiroth’s call and let out a growl at the dragon and flew quickly in the way to block him. He was not going to be out flown by this bronze not this time Leonth dived forward again to cut off Sephiroth, he was not taking any chances with this dragon.
R’reek felt his dragon wish to stop Sephiroth from getting close to Ziinyth and R’reek felt a bit the same way. He had tried to get to know Kisa since she had come trying to tell her stuff about the weyr, which had been hard with every other bronze trying to get her attention.

Ziinyth warbled in delight as more of those glorious, foolish Bronzes joined her flight, their calls ringing through her Weyr and up to her ears, their sweet words cluttering her mind. Let them try! She backwinged, bringing heself to the leaders, twitsing her figure to fly over them, brushing her wingtips along their backs almost playfully, taunting them, tempting them. It was she who they flew for, and if for a moment any of these beasts thought to bicker among themselves, she'd teach them a lesson on that matter swiftly.
So far as the Gold was concerned, so long as it was she who was in the air, it was she and only she who should be on the minds of the Bronzes, all else should pale in comparisson. Nothing could come close to her glory! Not on this day! As a reminder fo that , she threw her head back to the clouds, roaring passionately and then shot up, wings slamming at the air to move her swiftly, to lift her high above all else, fighting the thinner air for altitude. One crimson eye stayed on her followers, watching them, studying them, the other gazed up at the clouds, then, as her golden bulk burst into one of the soft, cold formations, she gazed at nothing but the pale, serene blue of clear sky. She hardly noticed anything for a moment, having moved out of sight of the Bronzes until the first bropke through the clouds, instead she was entralled by the sheer magnitude of the sky around her, dwarfing even the largest of Golds, and at that she let ring another bellow, calling to the dragons who were behind.
((Sorry this one is a little short. ><))

Leonth let out another call of joy to Ziinyth as she called to them enceraging them, how he loved, how he wanted to prove to her that he was the bronze most worthy of her and her affection.
He shot up after her through the clouds, the warm sun reflecting almost blinding on the snowy white clumps, but the light was not as blinding as the beauty of Ziinyth
From under the other bronzes another bronze shot under them older than Sephiroth and Leonth and his hide slightly scored from threads. He had kept low and let the young ones chase the young Gold about the sky, he was older and had seen many a young Golds take their first flight. Gordarth snagged a thermal and used it to carry him high up into the sky passing right in front of the other and shot through the clouds. “Greetings lovely Ziinyth from the warm West i am Godarth form Sunset Beach and am at your service”
Leonth growled at the newcomer and quickly moved to be closet to Ziinyth he would not let a stranger near her

Laronith kept one whirling eye upon Ziinyth, her form reflected as a gold glint in his eye, whilst the other he kept on the other bronze dragons around him. He had to rise up sharply, as on of the bronzes in front started to waver and then began to drop the chase too much from him. Laronith quickly corrected his flight path, dropping back down.
He was amongst the forefront of the main pack now, having gained upon many bronzes, darting around their larger shapes. However he hung back from the three currently jostling for the lead. He could be patient, he knew it would only take sharp turn, for one of the bulkier dragons to slip up, their larger cubersome shapes unable to navigate the twists and turns the lithe Laronith could perform.
For now he was content to hang back slightly, riding the thermals with ease, reserving his energy.
Upon the ground, his mind welded to his dragons, F'ariyan kept a firm footing, preventing himself from being jostled by the ever thinning crowd around the woman. As the number of riders lessened in the ring, the advances of those remaining increased, the far away gaze of eye indicating the link all shared with their dragon.

Leonth worked his wings to keep himself in the lead to follow Ziinyth to where ever she was wanting to lead them. He stayed on every twist and every turn she made following he golden beauty. He had this one chance to prove himself to the new weyr woman and her gold, he gave a mighty push with his wings and rolled off from the pack and then rolled over the top of the others to gain some height and then shot and speed after Ziinyth

Sephiroth followed Ziinyth as she climbed higher into the pern sky, he called lovingly to her. “Come my love there is still more to see of the weyr and of pern if you so wish” He called to her. He looked back as Leonth looped over him and the other bronzes and then shoot after the gold
By now several other bronzes had entered the flight one Reedth F’hursna’s eldest grandson and the other F’hursna youngest son and his bronze Twovanth. Both trying to get close to Ziinyth coming up close to Sephiroth.
Sephiroth glanced back at the two fighting bronzes, a dragon try grin crossed his face seeing a chance to lessen the number. Sephiroth let out a lash with his tail to deter any others

Ziinyth frowned, obviously displeased that any of the Bronzes divert their attention for a fraction of a second, and to fight amongt themselvs at that! They should be more concerned with their energy, and conserving it, for surely most of them were starting to fel the effects of this flight, even her own metalic wings were growing weary, though she could still manage easily, and this was what she was born for, to fly. Longer wings, better structure, easily able to outfly most any other dragon. With a growl, her pinions folded. She'd show them! She'd wear them down, make them so exhausted that they hadn't the engery to bicker among eachother! Her body tilted foward, and she fell into a steep dive, only dropping a few hundred feet before unfurling his golden membranes and allowing them to fill with air, adopting a circling ascent back into the clouds, scoffing at the males still. As she rose, she flipped lazily, preforming a lovely barrel roll in the air, and let her tail lash behind her. If any of them thought to crowd her, they'd be in for a shock, as she had no intention of being bullied about, and she wasn't above going so far as to turn around and snap at one who grew too bold in his quest.
As it were, one Bronze did grow bold, having remained at his altitude as the Gold dove, he was still above her, and he dropped, taking to flying just above the golden beauty, his wings beating in sync with her own. She was his! The thought echoed out of his mind in a dull roar, that ws cut short, turned into a cry of pain.
Ziinyth spun in the air, her jaws closing over the leg of the presuming Bronze, and growled dangerously. She did not bite hard, did not break the skin, but the fact that the Gold had turned on the young Bronze, who'd thought himself so clever as to try and claim her through sneaking up on her, was chilling in itself. As she released the Bronze, she rocketed up, taking a straight shot and circling slowly above once more, looking at her options thoughtfully. Which one? She grew weary of this game, was ready for it to end finally, but still she was unsure of who she wanted. //Come, sweet Bronzes. Those of you with strength enough, come up to me. I tire of this chase. Sing sweet words to me, and tell me why it should be you.// She sighed, her gaze drifting over one Bronze and then another, finding both flaws and valuable qualities in each. Which did she want? Which would become the Weyrleader for the next turn? Much weight was placed apon her shoulders by this decision, and no matter how sure she was, the Gold was forced to question herself.

With one great push of his wings Leonth was close to Ziinyth again. He followed her across the sky over the weyr, it was joyous to follow her to watch every slight movement she made, every turn, every flick of her tail and tilt of her wing, on and on he followed her fatefully throw the sky matching her every twist and turn following her on and on, always keeping her in his sight, she was beautiful, he would not lose her to another so easily. She was beautiful and well worth fighting for, he would match any dragon that Pern whished to hatch to prove that he was the one for her "Do not give up yet my love" he called to her, she was to lovely for him to even think of some feeble attempt at a plea to swoon her like the others were doing “I love you my love and will follow your lead through all of between” he called lovingly to her, putting on ever ounce of speed his wings could take
Godarth followed Ziinyth throw the sky, the novices dragons could not appreciate the beauty of a female who was asking for you to show her how far you will go to prove yourself worthy of her affection, yes it was easy to catch a novice female who was overwhelmed by her first flight, but he know Ziinyth was i no way overwhelmed by any of this, she know what she was doing and what she wanted, why take what could sometime be easily given, when asked in the right way

There had never been a Flight that had been as intense as this from the very beginning. They were soaring after their beautiful queen. The sun seamed to gleamed off of her golden hide, glowing golden in the sun, it was joyous to follow her to watch every slight movement she made Sephiroth worked his wings to keep up an push on some more speed “I am still with you my love, come lead use on and i will follow”
Reedth bugled again, this time in anger and indigenise at the other bronze. His eyes, now tinged red as well as purple, swirled quickly as he lined up neck-to-neck with the slightly larger dragon, baring teeth as sharp as daggers. <<She's mine!>> he shouted to the Bronze, snarling viciously, then pulling ahead again. He was in no way permanently hurt, but his hide would show a mark above his eye for a long while, his pride marred longer still.
Twovanth twisted out of the way of Sephiroth tail letting out his own angry call, but his to avoid Sephiroths tail had cost him now lost speed and altitude and fell back to the back of the pack.

Leonth turned his head just enough to see who the two calls of complaint was from. He worked his wings harder knowing he needed to stay a head of Sephiroth, he had pulled the same trick on him a few times in a flight after a green and Leonth had learnt well that to avoid that move of Sephiroth’s it was best to get a head of him and stay a head as Leonth know it was not the only trick the bronze had and would use on another to win the flight
Godarth pushed himself on grabbing a thermal and climbing higher to follow Ziinyth. He had heard the angry call of two but did not stop to care what had happened his sights were fixed on only one thing and that was Ziinyth

Ziinyth growled, her crimson gaze falling on the bickering males coldly, and a scathing order was issued from her. //Reedth, Sephiroth, and any others of you lot who think to fight among yourselves and waste your energy, land now. If the position of weyrking means so little to you that you would jeapordize your place in the dragons flying after me, I don't want you. If you rutting beasts can get one thing through your heads right now, make it this. I will not have my Weyr represented by a fool.// Seething, she backwinged, comming to a halt in the air to turn and deliver a scathing glare to the Bronzes, daring one of them to speak against her, or to argue.
Once she was sure none would, for to do so may have well sent her temper over the edge, she nodded, looking over the Bronzes critically, and making her choice. Her wings folded, and she fell, unfurling her wings only when she was within range of Leonth.//You will do, Leonth.// Her neck stretched out, reaching for his to twine with it, ready to allow herself to fall and to bring the Weyr a clutch, to make t proud of her. She would have liked to take a different Bronze, perhaps, but she was a transfered queen, and to take a mate to become the Weyrking, who was also not of Top Point would be a foolish error, and would have dangerous consqsuences.

With a push of his great Leonth moved closer to Ziinyth, right over the top of her then in one quick movement he dropped down on her locking his wings with hers and twisting his long shining bronze neck around hers. Holding her tight, but not enough to hurt, it was the last thing he whished to ever do, she was to lovely to hurt. ”I will make you proud of me and worth of you” he said to her
R’reek felt own conciseness snap back to him and realised he was right next to Kisa, he put an arm round her pulling her closer to him. Hoping with all his heart that she would not reject him as her chose and that he would not muck things up. He slowly and gently moved her away from the rest of the group.
Godarth dropped back from the group when he saw the queen make her chose, he was not happy about it, but he would respect her wishes, if this was her chose then he would do as she commanded and he would love her for it still
(( LOL Aw poor godarth he never wins a flight he's in ))

Ziinyth crooned softly in response, folding her golden wings as they tumbled through the sky, a most beautiful act taking place. She was truely the queen of this Weyr now, she'd taken her mate of their lot, and would soon give a clutch to the warm sands. That was a happy thought, one that leftr her hopeful of acceptance in the Weyr, of the esentment slacking up a bit. She didn't regret her choice, didn't regret comming to this Weyr for it was good experience, was good for her to know how to deal with difficulties. However, unlike many of this Weyr, she was no problem creature, no burden to Pern. She'd come willingly, Kisa had volunteered them so that they could offer their aide. Her neck was twined with Leonth's, and though perhaps he was not her first choice, he was the best for the Weyr, sacrifices of preference would be placed aside until it was not so urget for Top Point to be in good shape, for it to be brought back from the brink of being destroyed. No Weyr could survive without a queen, no Weyr could funtion without one.
Kisa sighed, blindly turning to the coaxing arms that led her away, scarcely away that it was R'reek who held her.
