"Greetings T'vin rider." Malon said nodding his head. Feeling a bit unnevered the little green flitt came zipping back to Malon to 'protect' him. Wrapping her tail around his wet neck tightly she perched on his shoulder with her eyes looking abouts at the other men as if to say, 'he's mine you will not touch him' seeing some sort of imaginary threat now. "Gah, loosen up would ya." Malon tried pulling at her tail with his hand he tried to get her off. "Well, I guess I must be off then. I'll see you again sometime."

Talex was not to happy when the fire lizard rejoined them, but he know he could not as Malon to send it away.
Talex brought in his line “Don’t think I will catch anything, I think you scared everything off when you fell in” Talex laughed getting up.
“Hey wait you cant go wondering into the candidate barracks wet through like that the candidate master will think someone throw you in the drink” Talex said knowing how Malon looked

“Hi so who are you?” He asked Malon “Are you a candidate for the next hatching?” T’vin asked bu seeing the two older boys where going.
This Made T’vin feel a bit unwanted really and he know why...it was because he was a dragon rider. Well he hadn’t asked to be a dragon rider it was his mum who had put him on the sands and that was only to stop his father from taking him back to Cliff Valley Weyr to impress there. Which T’vin would not have gone he wanted to stay with his mother and he was starting to like living by the sea

"Heh," Malon replied rubbing the back of his head with a hand shrugging a bit awkwardly. His other hand still by his neck keeping the flitt's tail from crushing him. Finally with a bit of effort he pulled off his flitts tail from the choker it was trying to form around his neck. "Just chill Dabble. Its just a dragonrider, he doesn't want me or you. Now stop trying to suffocate me!" He yelled at the stubborn green who finally gave up on it but remained sitting on his shoulder, "My bad."
"Oh, I'm Malon. I'm supposed to be a candidate for the next hatching here." Now seeing as it would be rude to just leave like that in the presence of a rider. He still wasn't completely used to Weyrlife again. Drudges were to stay out of sight and weren't to speak to a rider of any status unless completely necessary, but he wasn't that anymore so respect and politeness was required.
Snapping his fingers and swinging his hand down in a motion of disappointment over his failed idea he muttered, "Egg shells! You're right. I could end up being the face of ridicule for that and I suppose I'd leave fair sided puddles in my trail.." Malon looked out at the sky and it really didn't look like the clouds would clear at all that day and the sun would likely remain behind the cover of the clouds. "Think a miracle will come and the sun will come out so I can dry off?"

Talex realised himself that they were being just a bit crewel to T’vin, he was still just a kid.
Talex stayed a few steps away from Malon while his fire lizard still hung about him. Another reason Talex didn’t like the things was their habit of throttling their owners.
”Not to mention you’ll have all the weyr kids getting their ear chewed on by the candidate master, till they find out who dumped you in the drink” Talex said then giving a slight laugh.
”Yeah we could follow you by the lake size puddles you leave”
Talex had to think Malon could not stay out side not with the clouds looking to stay.
”What about going to the hatching sands…its warm in there, you would dry off in no time”

“Nice to meet you” T’vin could see Malon was having trouble with his fire lizard
“Do you want me to ask Bahamuth to talk to her?” he offered knowing the brown could always get Spark to calm down.
T’vin looked shocked at Talex’s suggestion about going on the hatching sand “Are you mad…Talia will his the roof not to mention H’ton” T’vin asked

“Yeah but Talia and H’ton aren’t here, Talias at Top Point meeting E’lric and H’ton’s took his wing hunting…so the place is pretty much clear…other than if my mum catches me and i bet you haven’t done the dare yet Malon?” Talex asked as it was dare to run from on entrance to the other calling your name and not get caught, nearly all at East Cliff had done this at one point or another

"Dabble thinks she's my mother and a gold queen dragon. She listens to nobody, hardly even listens to me." Malon laughed. Dabble was just far too full of herself to give to shells to what a dragon tells her unless she's in danger.
"Oh no, I haven't done the dare. I'm 19 turns, misbehaving like that would just be childish." He shook his finger at Talex as if to shame him but then laughed, "A man like me needs more of a challenge than a little child's game."

T’vin laughed as Malon described Dabble…”I have a blue called Spark but he’s just mad”
“Its no child’s game if H’ton and Talia catch yah, Talia very strict over when people are allowed on those sands…and another failing point in your grand plan Talex, K’ttaks still here an if he catches you, you will be in for it because you know he will tell Talia when she gets back.” T’vin said knowing he had done it when he had come.

“Na not to old…its meant to bring good luck for when you stand on the sands to impress as the cavern holds all the names and echoes it to the dragon eggs” Talex said relaying what his brothers had told him.
Talex had done the dare himself though his older brother nearly told on him for it.

“That’s a load of crack dust...how is the caven meant to hold all the names of people who ran through it and tell it to the dragons, when no one ever...well no one with brains ever runs through it when theres any eggs on the sand?” T’vin asked Talex thinking he was making the last part up

“Na not lie ask anyone even Zi…she’ll tell yah T’vin, there is such a belief” Talex said as he hoped it would bring him good luck on his turn on the sand when and if his turn came. Talex didnt know what colour he wanted, well not a green anyway as he didnt think he was that way.
But a bronze would be great or brown like T'ibbar but he wouldnt care even if it was a blue.

"Oh really now? I have a blue too, but that Klootz seems to have flown off somewhere.." He replied briefly looking around to see if he could find the flitt.
"Well, there is only one way to find out if it actually brings any luck or not, or even how aware the riders and folk of East Cliff are anyways.." Malon said with such a devilish smirk on his face. Now that he'd gotten to know Talex better he felt more comfortable allowing out his natural jubilant and somewhat childish self out. He was fairly sure too that the rider must be fairly chill too. "I'm thinking perhaps I should try running across the Weyr and through the caverns. Whats the worst that could happen to me aside a few lashes?"

“Yeah that’s the spirit” Talex said grinning happily that Malon would take up the dare that nearly everyone at East Cliff had done. Even his older brother had done it though he would never tell anyone, but Talex know better.

“well you don’t have to come...but you better not go telling” Talex said to T’vin knowing he most likely wouldn’t tell he was still young enough to want to do the childish things such as what they were about to get Malon to go do.
“Yeah well Astra needs to stop kissing up to K’ttak as much...any way i though he was going to he hatching at Top Point with your mum...why haven’t they gone?” Talex asked thinking it odd as he had heard K’ttak talking about wanting to see how Rio was getting on with wing drills and stuff

"Well I'm brave. I've already lost the dear love of my life," Malon said thinking back about the girl for a moment, "I have nothing left to lose." Giving a sly look over at the rider he taunted, "So you're brave enough to fight thread but not do a silly dare because of another rider and your mother? Are you not a man of youth?" Oh this was getting tempting. He felt just like his younger sister Branica at this point. How that little girl was so playful and came up with the most wild of ideas. "...Or are you poultry?" He added in another taunt with a raised eyebrow and making a large step back so if he pushed too many of the rider's buttons he wouldn't get hit.

Talex looked at Malon “ He’s not old enough to be in the fighting wing, you have to be 16 turns or over, H’ton rule.
As dragon mature faster than their rider, that’s why i have had to wait so long for my turn on the sand” Talex pointed out.
When Malon mentioned about losing the love of his life “So is that why you dumped your self in the drink?” he asked thinking no girl was worth that.
“Anyway he’s got a good right to be worried about his mum. I would be worried about my mum and da catching me at what we’re about to do…” Talex said still wondering why Timov and K’ttak had not got to Top Point…they had been talking about it the other day.

“I’m not old enough to be in the fighting wings…but at least i get to do wing drills and help mop up after the fall…hope you enjoy bagging my firestone” T’vin said he didn’t like being called a poultry
“and what do you think the weyrling master will do if he catches use…he’ll do more than give use a few lasses that’s for sure” T’vin said haven gotten on K’ttaks bad side once or twice.
He turned to reply to Talexs question “My mum cant go between for a while and K’ttak didn’t fancy going on his own” said

Talex puzzled over why T’vins mum and K’ttak had not gone or why Timov could not go... it took some thinking but then the mark dropped.
“ ah...wow she’s not is she?” He asked T’vin seeing if he know why a green rider sometimes could not go between
