Talex lead the way to the record room, he nabbed a few extra glows on the way as the record room was known to be dull and dark with poor light.
He know the record keepers said that to bright a light damaged the hide and the sheets of paper, but a little extra light for a short time would not do a load of harm, better than a candle. Talex had seen a few times how easy one of them could be knocked over and a fire started, especially in the dinner hall and when some dead glow tossed a cup of spirit on to the fire thinking to put it out.

Talex walked in ignoring the mess that Malon had left and set about putting the extra glows in the glow basket and shaking them up to glow a bit brighter.
It was a big improvement on the lighting “Much better” Talex said walking around the room, he avoided the scrolls he wasn’t a big fan of reading, oh he could do his letters, numbers, know his teaching ballets and could read. He just could not see the pleasure people took in it and he was avoiding the scrolls and sheets in case Malon wanted to sit and read.
He walked over to the big map that showed the weyr and the territory they covered, he looked at it.
“This is all wrong on this” He said pointing to the map “This part of the cliff fell away the other turn back. Though suppose its waiting for the Harper Hall to get it done. There use to be a under ground tunnel all the way to East Cliff Hold, but it was very wet and you have to climb out of a well” Talex said using his finger to trace the path he was pointing to. He know he was just rambling but he had to think of something to say.
“Mind never thought of the record room as a hiding place” Talex said thinking his mother know he didn’t like reading so she would never look here for him.

Malon just about fell over himself running in desperately grabbing at his papers. His paranoia over all this was a tad excessive and almost mad. He took these papers to a whole new level of importance. He'd even choose them over a pretty girl anyday! As fast as he attempted to roll the papers and hides of his the fastest he could the pile fell to the floor in a flurry each piece fluttering down. "Egg shells!" Malon grumbled leaning down trying to pick everything up.

As he worked on once more trying to gather all of his work he looked up at Talex, "Ey, don't you need to go see your mother? You know you'll eventually have to."

Talex turned looking at Malon “ no... I don’t have to go see her. She just wants to give me a hair cut... and i like my hair like this... oh I’ll get T’ibbar to cut it, that will keep her quiet, T’ibbar’s her favourite so she will see it as him doing her a kind thing” Talex said picking up on if the scrolls Malon had dropped.
“You did a lot of reading down here?” he said seeing the number of thing Malon had to put away.
“Do you want a hand?” Talex offred
